With the help of the funds samaritan supporters have provided, I've been able to give my son the warmth of not just clothes, but also food. It’s given me relief from the day to day strain of just the smallest of bills. Thank you.

Darlene

Darlene is a young mother that is one year sober and currently focusing on staying in housing. Her dream is to create a true home in her current housing and to return to school to broaden opportunities for herself and her child. Darlene engaged with Lifelong Medical Care as a part of her journey to sobriety, and engaged with samaritan supporters as a part of that. Receiving encouraging messages and financial support on needs such as food, shoes, and furniture from over 13 supporters helped Darlene continue to move forward, as she completed over 15 steps to continue to maintain her sobriety - such as meeting her case manager, having monthly checkups with healthcare, and attending housing briefings. Lately, Darlene has been continuing to make her house a true home, and is excited to plan a 1st birthday celebration for her son!

Yossuf

Yossuf engaged with Lifelong after a period of his life using substances and living a street life. In partnership with samaritan, he was able to receive encouragements and aid from 14 supporters, which he has used as fuel to achieve more and discover parts of life that he feels make living worth it. Yossuf says that he has learned that there are people who care and genuinely want to help him stay on the right track, and that he’s grateful for it!

Ariana

Ariana is a dog trainer and Bay Area native experiencing homelessness. She got in touch with Lifelong and samaritan to further her goals of getting housed and starting her own animal rescue - her 16 supporters have responded in kind by sending verbal and financial help! Ariana says she’s grateful for the peace of mind she now has when purchasing medication for her dogs, art supplies, and the occasional boba drink to keep her spirits up.
